Persist – Practice becoming more patient

Lifestyle change doesn’t happen overnight and it doesn’t happen by itself. Lifestyle change involves a conscious struggle for an extended period of time – but we already knew that didn’t we!

Developing more patience is one of the most important things you can do to help with this struggle. Becoming more patient will prevent that destructive alternating pattern of frantic energy followed by a feeling of being overwhelmed and demoralised.

Develop a realistic long term goal with several intermediate goals along the way. This will provide a solid calm background onto which we can relax and be patient while we work away, one day at a time, at keeping on track to the next weight-loss goal.
